Santa - two pastels

Santa (1) and Santa (2)
Size: 20x15 cm each of them
Media: soft pastel on Ingres Paper

Here is a double-Santa for you. They supposed to be separated to two pictures and it's no any relative connection between them.

I like the Santa 1 (upper) for the character - just look his glance and spectacular pose!

I like his brother (below) for pastel softness and clean white around, his snow beard and his kids-friendly appearance.

You are welcome to make your own choice.
As I already mentioned - both pictures can ( and supposed) be sold separately.

Nostalgia

Not for sale.

This painting, dated around 1990 is not for sale ever.
I publish it here just to make a short break from parade of poinsettias.
All the objects on this paint has a sentimental background. Flowers and berries, that mark October, or maybe late September, white lines - from babe's wardrobe and glass - it's from grandma's storage, saved from early 20th of 20th century, or maybe even earlier.

Poinsettia (4)

This is the last one of this bouquet, before it's getting dry. Poinsettia even drying with self-respect. Leaves become deep violet at the corners, and, saving original shape, just falling down. Gorgeous plant!

Another name is from Egypt - "Bent El Consul" - means "the consul's daughter".

Noche Buena and even more poinsettia

It's so beautiful that we can't stop painting it!
We found that Poinsettia has many names, vary in different regions and begins it's history as Christmas symbol from 16th cent Mexico. "Noche Buena" (Spanish) is one of the names. And, by the way, it's mexican beer too! "The only Christmas beer in Mexico, Noche Buena is a dark, full-bodied premium brew with a strong, distinctive flavor."

I think that "Noche Buena" is the best of my poinsettia seria, even the last (#4) is very good too.

Cookies study

Winter - it's lot of tea, cookies and sugar powder. Those are mini-cocus at their original size, even a bit enlarged. I plan to paint something in Christmas mood with many of these and hope that study will be useful.

My goal was to paint sliding light and slippery, "licked" apple.
