Monday, 29 June 2009You're in the army now"You're in the army now" Size: 30x22 cm Media: oil colors on canvas © ANDRE STASHINSKI 2009 SOLD Uniform of olive color, pills and stainless still flask with potent beverage for “real man” – you are in army now. Although alcohol is strictly prohibited in armies of all countries (I guess) – flask is very important element of soldier’s gear. Unfortunately I have purchased this one when my “army career” was past far behind me. Cheers!Andre Sunday, 14 June 2009Soup starts from water![]() Size: 40x50 cm Media: Oil colors on stretched canvas © ANDRE STASHINSKI 2008 That's right! And here are “alpha” and “omega” of soup cooking. There is a jug for fresh spring water and a soup tureen for final product - great meal for cold winter day. Between fast food hamburger and soup – I definitely vote for soup – by 2 hands. Because it is impossible to eat it “fast” – you need space and time. Good soup starts from good water. Soup normally contains 80 to 90 percent water – just a little bit more then human body.

Search This BlogABOUT USWhy Still Life
Still life is one of genres that often underestimated as it is considered educational. Let us disagree with this. Still life is a mirror of the moment, it often deals with everyday objects that seem us casual today, but in a while they would make an interest for spectator as "antique" stuff. Fashion, technologies, habits of people change faster then you can imagine. Once these still objects get reflected in the painting - they receive a fixed place in lines of our memories. Thanks to its ability to be composed in particular way, still life is an excellent tool to express the mood or idea of the author. Exactly alike one's mind it could be plain or deep, joyful or pissed of, to express curiosity/ balance or disbalance/ Zen or stress, etc.
TO CALL THEM NAMESWhen named - painting is getting personal. Reviving itself, he will wake you up to emotions, associations and thoughts. Giving creative names to the paintings we often turn the spectator to another direction. Named still life is getting alive, playful and actively interact with spectator.
