I used to be frequently asked about the name of this paint. Well, Andre named it (thanks dear!)
So.. finally, what is it "metallography"?
"Metallography is the study of the physical structure and components of metals." (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metallography).
My aim in this still-life was working on metals textures, forms and reflections, light and shadow play is always interesting as well.

Thank you very much Louis ! It seem to be a good choice - to put comment right here :-) . I liked this painting myself and glad to hear you do. It was sold from the exhibition and since 2009th it is placed on the wall of the head office of one of the leading hi-tech companies. I'm very pleased about it of course . Cheers :-)
