Wood Shavings

Size: 60x42 cm
Media: oil colors on canvas
© ANDRE STASHINSKI 2010

This very old plane (about a hundred y.o.!) belonged to our friend's father. Ohh, no, the friend's name is not Pinocchio! We lent it for paint and it is appears in two pictures.

Here is the photo of painting "a-la prima" - We know you like to watch the process.

The third photo shows details. The goal (technical side) of this painting was to show different wood textures: loose and mellow shavings, soft wood of planks, table with half-erased old varnish. Different textures, but all of them are warm and golden. The cold blue of the blade comes for contrast.

  1. I like wood – see and touch - and Andre’s work gave me a lot of pleasure.

  2. I like this work for warm and golden colors of wood. Eternity exists in this old plane and this kind of work. You can calm yourself by watching this picture.
